Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and friends inspired me as a child. When all the other girls would be checking out the newest babysitter's club books, I would rotate through the four large Peanuts books that had comic strip after comic strip printed in them. I loved how these charming characters did not know they were funny. I loved that they where not over the top happy all the time. They were real. I loved the life lessons they taught. I was inspired by their Christmas special we recorded on VHS that I would watch routinely throughout the year. How amazing that these cartoon children testified of Christ and promoted good will!! I even remembering thinking that even though the jazzy music that accompanied the short movie did not sound christmasy, it was still played throughout the Christmas season.
